DIY Mud Cloth Print Satin Silk Robe

Happy Third Thursday!!! Thank you for the out pour of love on my September post. My heart is still on overflow. This month is all about my mud cloth print robe. The video below includes a pattern review as well as a showcase of how I styled the robe 6 different ways with some more DIY pieces sprinkled in. Which is your favorite? Sew the Look

Fabric: Satin (Polyester) from AFRILEGE, I purchased 2.5 yards. I used 1.75 yards for the robe and made a skirt with the remaining fabric. The contrasting black fabric is from my local fabric store, I took a scrap piece of the main fabric to the store so that I could match the sheen/silky finish.

Pattern: For the robe I used Burda 6244. The wide leg pants are Simplicity 8605, the details for how I modified this pants pattern can be found here. The skirt is self drafted, I attempted to use my half circle pattern but I did not have enough fabric so I created an a-line style with some flare.

Sizing: I cut the size 18 for the robe. I used the finish hip measurement on the pattern to make my decision (bust measurement is not listed). The finished hip is 48″, my hips fluctuate between 40-42″.

Modifications:

• A visual of all modifications can be found in the video below.
• Shortened the sleeve pattern by 2″ and added a 2″ contrasting band
• Shortened the View A length by 5-5/8″
• Created an extra long sash using the included sash (ribbon) pattern. I sewed three pieces together and added interfacing to the center piece (1 x 28in. (waist), 2 x 34in.)
• Added pockets
