Hello Everyone! I hope you all are doing well. After a 13 month break from creating content I come to you with a new blog post, a YouTube video and a IG Reel.
Quick Life Update: fibroids research, family emergency, car accident, fibroid procedure, new job, in that order.
I thought I was coming back late April but life said NO. A week after my “Spring Sneak Peek” IG Reel and YouTube video I was in a car accident, can’t say much about it, but I’m still in recovery.
This season has taught me the true meaning and importance of rest, to ask for help and receive help. My village has really held it down for me, I’m so full from all the love and support, ya girl in on overflow.
My plan is to bless you all with new content every third Thursday of the month. Turn on your notifications, set an alert, due what you must to remember. This is where I’m at in my sewist journey and I look forward to y’all rocking with me and meeting me where I’m at, love y’all ❤️
Sew the Look
Fabric: Tribal Challis Print (100% Rayon) from Melanated Fabrics. The colorway I purchased is sold out, however you can find the same print in a different colorway here
Pattern: For the pants I used the Brandy Pants pattern by Dressmaking Amore. The Kaftan is self drafted. I created a mini tutorial in the YouTube video explaining my process for creating the kaftan.
Sizing: For the pants I cut a size L for the front and XL for the back; my hips measure 41 inches, waist 29 inches. I also made crotch adjustments using this video I found on Youtube.
Modifications:
- I opted for inseam pockets in the pants
