DIY Ankara African Print Fabric Infinity Maxi Dress Tutorial

Happy Wednesday Everyone! In today’s post I’m sharing a video on how I made my infinity top for my infinity maxi dress. The great thing about an infinity dress is you can use any skirt pattern of your choice and turn it into a dress. I’m all for comfort these days so I used my flat front-elastic back Toya Skirt. I also have other skirt tutorials on my channel that you can use to create a full dress.

To create my dress I used some beautiful Ankara fabric that I got from Ankara and Lace.  Ankara and Lace currently has a fabric giveaway every month. Join their text list by texting LACE to 77948 or join their email list through the pop up on their site.

Be sure to watch the video all the way to the end. I show how I tied my dress in both of the styles pictured.

Materials

  • Fabric: I used 4.25 yards of this fabric
  • Skirt Pattern: I used my Toya Skirt (you can use any skirt pattern of your choice, mine is a flat front, elastic back)
