DIY Three Tiered Maxi Skirt | New Look 6516

Hello Everyone! Happy Wednesday! Today I have a pattern review for New Look 6516. I have been pinning tiered skirts for a while and I finally had the opportunity to try out a pattern. Below you will find my review and some video footage of the skirt in action.

Pattern Review

Pattern Description: New Look 6516

Pattern Sizing: 6-18, I cut the 18 (My hip measurement: 41in.)

Fabric Used: Ankara (100% cotton) from Afrique Clothing Store

Were the instructions easy to follow? I did not use the instructions, but I read through them and they are straightforward and simple.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the envelope once you were done with it? Yes, it looks similar, I did make some modifications so my finished product looks slightly different.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked the slim fit of the top tier. I wish the second and third tier would have been fuller so that the separations in tiers would have been more prominent.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: 

• Created flat front elastic back waistband
• Added pockets
• Added 2 inches to the third tier, I lengthened from the the top of the pattern piece
• 2 inch hem
