Sew the Look

Fabric: Customized mud cloth print from JOANN’s. I chose to have my design printed on crinkled chiffon which is 100% polyester crepe fabric with a semi-opaque look. In the tutorial below I demonstrate how I selected my fabric, changed the color and scale, and chose my fabric.

Tutorial/Pattern: To create the top I hacked Simplicity 8840. I demonstrate how I hacked the pattern in the tutorial below.

Sizing: I cut the size 12, I sized down from the recommended size. My bust measurement is 37, I looked at the finished garment measurements to make my decision. The finish garment bust measurement for the size 12 is 40 inches, giving me 3 inches of ease.

Styling: I styled my top with jeans from H&M, clutch from Macy’s, sunglasses from Forever 21 and ankle booties from Michael Kors.
