Fabric: Neon Pink Stretch Lightweight Crepe Suiting from Cali Fabrics. This one is sold out, but you can check out their other crepe selection here
Patterns/Tutorials: I self drafted the top using Handmade by Karly’s YouTube tutorial. You can find the measurements I used below in the “Sizing” section. For the pants I used Simplicity 8605.
Sizing: I cut the size L for the pants. My hip measurement fluctuates from 41-42 inches and my waist fluctuates between 28-30. I looked at the finished garment measurements on the pattern to make my decision. Cutting the large gave me 10 inches of ease.
Here are the measurements that I used to create my top (my bust measurement is 37in.)
- Top- 17.5 in. x 10 in.
- Carriers- 3 in. x 1 in.
- Strap- 36 in x 1 in.
Pants Modifications:
- Lengthened 1/2 inch at hem
- Lengthened 3 inches at waist
- Created 2 inch hem (I’m 5’6)
- Used my own pocket pattern
- Created a 2 inch flat front elastic back waistband (same technique from my skirt courses)
I don’t sew very many pants, but after sewing this pattern, I will definitely be making many pants using this pattern. While I have a long list of tutorials I want to film, I’ll be adding this to my list.
