DIY Cheetah print Crop top Simplicity 8927

Hello Everyone! Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are doing well. Today’s post is all about my quick and easy crop top I made using some cheetah print fabric that I picked up from JOANN’s. Since the school year has started I haven’t had as much time to sew due to starting a new curriculum and developing math notes for my students. I refuse to use that as an excuse to not do what I love in my personal time. In order to keep my sewing juices flowing I’ve decided to do simple chic projects as I get a handle on my new work responsibilities.

I’m in love with my crop top. This silky print feels so good on my skin. Initially when I purchased the fabric I thought I would have challenges working with the silky texture, I thought it might be too slippery. This fabric surprised me. Cutting out the pattern pieces was a breeze, I used my OLFA rotary cutter so there was no lifting and shifting as I was cutting into the fabric. Sewing the fabric was also a breeze, I was able to use my universal 80/20 sewing needle and I experienced no shifting as I was sewing. I purchase a total of 3 yards, I only used one yard for my top and I plan to use the other 2 yards for fall scarves. I plan to make one for myself and gift the other to my mom.

Slay the Look

Fabric: Silky Print Textured (100% polyester filament)
